Founded in 2017, Trojan Trays Australia was established with the goal of providing quality steel trays and fabrication services to all individuals, businesses, and fleet operators across Australia. Based in Orange, NSW, Trojan Trays was born to prove that manufacturing in Australia could be viable and flourish with a little bit of ingenuity.
100% Australian owned and operated, we are proud to say that the final design of our Elite Trojan Trays was driven by the feedback we received from the local farmers, tradies, and engineers that graciously gave us their time. Heavy duty by design, all our products are built Trojan Tough so that you can keep going all day long.
Managing Director and Founder
Steve founded Trojan Trays Australia in 2017 with the aim of proving that with a bit of planning, innovation, and hard work, manufacturing in Australia could be viable, and flourish. As the Managing Director, Steve oversees every aspect of the business, and he works tirelessly to ensure that the Trojan Team are empowered to reach their full potential, and that every one of our customers is well looked after.
Since the completion of his apprenticeship as a fitter and machinist, Steve has amassed significant experience in the mining and manufacturing sectors over a variety of leadership roles. He has successfully managed teams of over 200 individuals under some of the harshest working conditions across every part of Australia.
Able to effectively communicate at all levels of an organisation, Steve has a proven track record of building and developing teams capable of solving extremely complex and time sensitive projects. Most recently, Steve successfully rehabilitated the Cadia East Underground Mine after a 4.3 magnitude earthquake caused catastrophic damage to the integrity and safety of the mine.
In his time off, you will find Steve running around with his family, rebuilding cars, on the race track, or taking it easy on the golf course.
Chris Preen joined Trojan Trays as our Operations Manager and oversees the design and engineering of all Trojan Trays products. The quality and ingenuity behind our Elite and Warrior Trays are a result of his hard work and unwavering commitment to perfection. Chris brings extensive design and engineering capabilities to Trojan Trays Australia. He has over a decade experience spanning across the manufacturing, engineering, and mining sectors. Chris has designed and manufactured countless custom orders for large multi-national companies, and relishes in the challenge to deliver where no one else can.
In his spare time, Preen immerses himself in his passion for Kart Racing. Multi-talented, Chris has won several Go Kart Championships, coached others to pole position, and is also heavily involved in the design and modification of Go Karts.
Dealership Sales Manager
As the lead in dealership sales, Harry is the driving force behind the day to day interactions between Trojan and the Trojan Dealer Group. Harry has joined Trojan Trays with a wealth of knowledge and experience from the dealerships perspective, as a Sales Manager within numerous dealerships within the Peter Terry Group and most recently with Tony Leahey Jaguar, Land Rover. This experience makes Harry our secret weapon with maintaining great relationships, upholding the Trojan values and ensuring we are putting our customers needs at the highest priority.
In Harry’s spare time you’ll typically see him with a beer in his hand, playing golf, watching cricket or helping out one of his mates. Harry is a true Aussie bloke.
Sales Support, Marketing and Administration
Geoff Buss is the sales support for Harrison Bird to service the Trojan Dealer Group, and ensuring all of our quoting and manufacturing schedule is well communicated. Geoff also heads up our Marketing and Administration at Trojan Trays Australia. He has over 20 years experience across sales, marketing, and business development. As the face and voice of Trojan, he is constantly on the phone, and meeting all of our valued retail customers across the country. Geoff’s affable personality, and commitment to customer service makes him a great team player, and a valued member of Trojan Trays Australia.
When Geoff is not on the road flying the Trojan Trays flag, you’ll find him spending time with his two kids, and playing in a local rock band, The Phrase NOISE Offensive. Check him out on piano & vocals.
Maurice is one of our Fabricators. As the newest member of our Trojan team he’s always head down taking care of business. Often quiet but with a quick wit, Maurice will always make you laugh when you least expect it.
When he’s not delivering exceptional Trojan Tough fabrication, you’ll find Maurice fishing or target shooting. Maurice was actually the Western Sydney Rifle Club “Club Champion 2009”. Now that’s pretty impressive! You might also find him hanging out in his home brewery creating awesome liquid gold. Maurice’s advice to any budding home brewers…”always have plenty of empty bottles around!”
The Trojan Trays Fabrication team would not be complete without Mitch. A Qualified Sheetmetal Tradesman with broad Body Building experience behind him, he’s a specialist in high quality fit and finish. Out of the workshop Mitch is a keen martial artist and enjoys camping and fishing on the weekends.
Ian’s specialisation in Hydraulics and Machining rounds out our strong workshop team. A trade qualified Fitter Machinist, his commitment to and enthusiasm for Fabrication and high-quality work is unwavering, an excellent compliment to our team. When he’s not working with us, Ian is a proud grazier in the Central West.
Trojan Trays Australia are very proud to announce the arrival of our 2019 apprentice. Dalton will start with the Trojan Fabrication Team in January and will become a certificate 3 in Metal Fabrication. Dalton approached us with a great set of references, an honest approach and ready to dig deep.
